Activist of the Year
Anna Šiline
In 2024, Anna was an organizer for nearly all RSU Student Union (SU) events and served as the project manager for the Sport and Active Leisure Festival "Taurenis 2024." Additionally, with her active involvement this year, she holds the position of Council Elder, working with her team to introduce new initiatives within RSU SU, such as the Valentine’s Day mail, Women’s Day greetings, and a mini team-building event for the Council and the Board.
If there is ever a need for help with daily SU office tasks, Anna is always ready to assist without hesitation. She has made a significant contribution to RSU SU throughout the past year and continues to do so.
Marta Elizabete Rozīte
When I hear the phrase "Activist of the Year," the first person that comes to mind is Marta Elizabete Rozīte. Over the past year, Marta has been an organizer and poured her heart into events such as the Annual Award Ceremony "Zelta Pakavs 2024," "Mazpipari," the Anatomy Olympiad, "Taurenis," and "ZGI," always going the extra mile to ensure that every participant and guest feels welcomed, has a great time, and creates unforgettable memories.
Marta is not only committed to executing her assigned tasks with precision but also takes initiative and comes up with innovative, never-before-seen solutions and ideas, letting her creativity flourish and making herself an invaluable member of the organizing team.
In December 2024, Marta was the project manager of a brand-new and refreshing trivia game night "Brain Freeze," which captured the hearts and minds of both local and international students. Additionally, recently Marta was also managing Valentine's Day Ball, which swept hundreds of students from various higher education institutions into a whirlwind of dance, music, kindness, and love.
Marta’s strong sense of responsibility, radiant smile, and ability to always remain calm have earned her a special place in the hearts of many RSU SU members.
Thank you, Martiņ, you are wonderful!
Tomass Krastiņš
Almost every SU project this year has, in many ways, also been a Tomass project. An activist with golden hands or an organizer with unbreakable willpower—both descriptions fit him perfectly.
Tomass grows with each project like a fresh spring sprout, becoming more confident every time. He was the technical mastermind of ISC 2025, carrying a significant portion of this year's conference’s technical aspects on his shoulders.
But in short, Tomass is an incredibly kind person whose contributions undoubtedly make the SU environment a brighter and happier place.
Mārtiņš Bode
If there is ever a perfect example of the saying "having hands that grow from the right place", then it is definitely about Mārtiņš. What he manages to accomplish is something only a few can. It’s hard to imagine an SU project without his involvement, as he, like a true knight, can cross opposite sides of Riga very quickly and pull off the nearly impossible—just to make sure everything runs smoothly.
There is a rumour that during ISC 2025, Mārtiņš was one of the last to leave the university premises, ensuring that everything was perfectly prepared for the big project. An outstanding individual who helps the student council reach new heights!
Karīna Romašenoka
Karīna is the kind of person you can always rely on – both as an activist and an organizer. She's a true driving force, diving headfirst into tasks, even when others would prefer to avoid them. It's no wonder she's been involved in almost every event organized this year!
No matter how much work piles up, Karīna always looks stunning – as if all the tasks were a piece of cake! Her smiling gaze and zest for life instantly lift the mood of everyone around her. She bravely expresses her opinion in the Council's work and is always there to lend a helping hand.
There's no doubt – with Karīna by your side, you can conquer not only mountains but also create unforgettable events! That's why she deserves the title of "Activist of the Year," proving that with the right attitude and work ethic, there are no unconquerable mountains!
